On 1st June 2024, Nicholls Brimble Bhol Solicitors rebranded and converted to NBB Law.
History of the firm:
The firm has a proud history dating back more than 65 years of serving the legal needs of clients. Several years ago there was the coming together of three long established and well known firms in the local areas of Bearwood and Selly Oak, namely Bryan Davies & Partners, Nicholas Brimble and John Wilson & Co. The name first changed to Nicholls Brimble in 2010 when Rupert Griffiths and our current senior partner Paul Nicholls acquired the firm Nicholas Brimble. This followed a few years later with the acquisition of Bryan Davies & Partners, with the firm then adopting a name change of Nicholls Brimble Incorporating Bryan Davies & Partners. During this time, Nick Brimble and Philip Davies, continued to be a part of the new business structure, with Philip Davies, only retiring in 2023 after 40 years of service to the legal profession. In 2016, our current Managing Partner Rob Bhol joined the firm, leading to a name change of Nicholls Brimble Bhol. The firm continued to grow and develop and in 2017, an office was opened in Harborne and in 2018 there was a further acquisition, that being John Wilson & co., in Selly Oak. The former owners John Wilson and Riccardo Magnate, remain a part of expanding business.
In 2018, the firm had three branch’s, located in Bearwood, Harborne and Selly Oak offering a range of legal services available to its valued clients, including Residential Conveyancing; Commercial Property; Wills Trusts and Probate; Litigation; Inquests and mediation. The firm was determined to continue to grow and to increase the range of legal services, adding Family Law; Business Immigration; Corporate Services and more. Like many other businesses, the firm was hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic but the partners of the business were determined to save jobs and to get through a rapidly changing environment and some key staff worked tirelessly during this time to help keep the business afloat. Despite the hardships and devasting impact for many people, the pandemic also brought about a more modern way of working and a flexibility that was able to enhance its offering to clients and employees, with some remote working and online meetings. As we emerged from the pandemic, it was decided to centralise all staff within a single site office and Harborne was the chosen location, with Selly Oak and Bearwood closing its doors and staff making the move. The firm was concerned that it may lose clients from its previous locations, but we were delighted when clients, many longstanding, stood by us and continued to retain our services and still do to this day.
In 2023, we continue to increase our range of services and to rebrand as NBB Law, which takes effect on 1st June 2024.
We are delighted that excellent lawyers from the past firms, stayed with us, with Philip Davies only retiring in 2023, Rupert Griffiths who will sadly be retiring in 2024 and Nick Brimble, who remains a regular attendee at the office, all of whom will be remembered for starting what still exists today and continues to develop and serve its clients, led by it partners Paul Nicholls, Rob Bhol, Chris Nicholls and Riccardo Magnante and supported by some truly excellent lawyers and support staff/
